La Luz del Armario / The light of the closet

Paul always shared the room with his older brother. There was no night in the darkness of the night that made him believe that strange and frightening shadows wanted to take him with them on the other side full of darkness.

That night, as all previous forced his brother, Richard, check around the room to make sure there is nothing out of the ordinary. Lit the closet with a flashlight to look around there was nothing but clothes and many other toys that you could not even move something without throwing anything away from it; under the bed were more than confident that there was nothing as they were drawers full more toys and summer clothes, among other things; Paul made Richard to look for the window, yes, they lived in a fifth floor, but Richard relieved that Paul looked there just in case anything from the underworld being so powerful and clever to put a ladder up to his window without anyone else in the building would know it. There was nothing like Richard assured him before he start looking at everything, nothing, but it was the only way to convince Paul to go his bed and his older brother would do anything that he ask.

That day, they had gymnastics and a soccer game after fusing it with the school were so exhausted and they fell asleep instantly get into bed. During the night, at 3:33 am Paul opened his eyes, got up a bit to see the time, looked around with the eyes almost closed and lay back, always woke up at that time for months, but as he reviewed with his mind what he had saw he just realized that not everything was in order, from the closet came a light, a bright light, opened the eyes of all, and when his eyes got used to that lighting was perplexed looking at the door of his closet . It was impossible, the flashlight was on the table beside his bed, it could not be in the closet, then what was the light from the closet?, Paul did not know what to do, did not have the courage to stand up, but wanted to know what happened, however, he covered him with the sheets and closed his eyes tightly, saying "it's not real, is not real"

The next morning, Paul got up without having to awake him, he went to wake his brother, but saw that he wasn't at bed  "damn, he will eat all the pancakes!" exclaimed Paul as he ran to the kitchen, but there was no one in the kitchen, in the living room or in the room of his parents, his family was not anywhere. He picked up a packet of biscuits and began to watch TV, but there was no electricity, everything began to go wrong. He picked up a book, cookies and sat on the couch.

The hours passed and no one came home, he realized that was not hearing any noise, all was quiet, too quiet for a Saturday when all the neighbors come out and happy for the portail and the neighboring heels that always sounded as if she not knew that disturbs the downstairs. But Paul, not hear anything, no sound of cars, no sound of voices, no sound of heels, no dogs barking or meowing cats, nothing.

He was encouraged to go out alone, rarely did it, he always went with his brother or mother or all the family together, but he went to the store to buy bread like every day all that he wants to know is if the shopgirl knew anything or had light simply he needed to see someone known to reassure him and tell him that everything is going okay. He arrived at the store, but it was closed, he called his school friend who lived near, but nobody answered, that's when he realized that there was not a soul in the whole street, the cars remained parked as they left the last night, he was alone, alone in a huge city, frightened and alone.

Paul decided to go home and not get out of there all day, it was night and he got into the bed, as if nothing had happened, as if when to open his eyes everything is going to back to normal. Once asleep, he woke up as usual at 3:33 am, opened his eyes looked around and there it was, the light of the closet, but this time  he took the flashlight and decided to approach there.

When he approached the light became very strong and the flash blinded him, when the light turn off, he could open his eyes and he can see that he was in the middle of nowhere in a forest, lit the flashlight that he brought in his hand and he walked slowly, was very scared. Suddenly, he began to hear voices, were many, but among them he could make out the voices of his mother and brother. He was guided by them and led him to a cabin, there they all were, all the habitants of the city were in that place on the other side of the closet trapped in the cabins.

From the shadows emerged a huge evil being grabbed him with its claws and threw it inside the cabin where his family, they told Paul that the day before they all went to looking at the light of the closet and that's how them ended up trapped in that dark place inhabited by huge dark beings and they, they were their food.

He was in his bunk dizzy, he dared not stand up and get out of the makeshift room and breathe clean air, they carried on the ship so long time that it might have been a month or longer, drifting, through storms and winds and still they don't know how still alive to tell the tale. He drank only water and ate a bit of soup that his wife, Suzanne, prepared for him, but Ryan was very weak.

One night they can sight of land, but until dawn came and the sun rose on top of the sky they can't drop anchor at that island they found. They ran many full of joy, they were finally at land after much time surfing aimlessly, they had no idea where they were, but the happiness to be out of that stinking boat was full.

Suzanne helped to get out to her husband, Ryan, as she could, they both lacked forces. They recovered the forces eating well with the food that they were still in the coffers that were in the boat and decided to each go their separate ways to investigate if they found a place to stay at the night rather than being outdoors.

Suzanne and Ryan went away to the north of the island, it was all vegetation and heard strange noises generated by animals who could not see, they did not encounter any animal, but knew they were there because they heard them. When They thought that there would be nothing and would have to move up a mountain that stood out for its height and also in the way impossible to locate the path to reach the top, it could not climb, they found a way to follow and they taking a look they can saw a big castle surrounded by weeds.

They approached the castle and saw that it was in perfect condition, but no one lived in it. It was a little creepy because there were many cobwebs and the sun seemed that don't hit the area for a long time, the moss around the walls and the cold was considerable by the moisture. Although actually seemed a bargain, was furnished with portraits of very strange people, dressed in black and their faces were very pale, but was reasonable because the sun seemed to hide in that island behind the huge mountain..

In the castle there was room for all sailors of the ship so they warned them all and spent the night there. Suzanne and Ryan chose the highest room of the castle, it was as if the room were called them. At night they could hear the sound of animals much, but even though they tried to see some they did not see any. Toward morning when the night was totally dark, a bright light coming through the window crack.

Ryan was so tired that he slept soundly, Suzanne went to the crack to see where it came from. At the top of the mountain in the darkness could be a light as bright as the sun revolved turning over the island as if it were a lighthouse. Suzanne no found and explanation, she observed the light for a while and then went back to bed to rest.

The next morning, she told her husband and the others everything and they decided to go in search of a path that lead to the top of the mountain, some of them knew about climbing and said it was very dangerous for the slope almost straight, by lack of necessary equipment and potential landslides that could result.

They surrounded the mountain and there was nothing no sign of a road or one that had been long time ago. They decided to get away to see if it could be seen from afar was on top of the mountain, but not appreciated at all. So they decided to rest and be awake at night to see what was happening.

It arrived the same time, the total darkness at night when light reappeared. All of them covered their eyes while it was a blinding brightness and turned as everyone ran in the direction of the mountain. They were watching their shining and a light moment it stood for a long time in a place, they came to inspect the area and among several brambles and bushes that they threw away with the machetes they could find a paved road that led straight to the top of the mountain, if it's not for that light they could not have found it never.

They moved up to the top, where there were the light was emerging. There was a hole in the ground, right at the top of the mountain, it was inexplicable as that light could turn like a beacon if it emerged from the ground, but suddenly, it was turned off and all of them at once came to look at the hole, they can not see anything. The ground began to shake, no one could react to move and get out of there, like an earthquake the ground opened up and swallowed them all. They saw nothing but complete darkness and hear the screams of terror of others while they kept falling and falling without ever reaching the end.

El Pueblo Oscuro / The Dark Town

It was a cloudy day like any other in that town, the sun was a dream desired by many residents. Sam had just moved in search of a life change and he was reorganizing the few belongings that he had since he was always was here and there, he never settled in one place for long.

When evening came, Sam sat down to rest, when he was almost asleep, someone called strongly to his door. He jumped up and opened the door, nothing, no one. Just he thought the sound was coming from the TV, turned it off and he went to his room to sleep

When he was asleep, he was awakened again the same sound at the door, but this time waited to see if they sounded again or if it was the result of his mind tired and sleepy. Blows sounded again, but not from a particular place was like someone hit all untimely walls throughout the house. Sam stood up and looked around the house if there was anything that could cause those sounds. He found several windows open by the air and closed they thinking they were banging on the wall. He returned to his room and fell asleep.

The next morning, the doorbell woke him. He went down to open and was a messenger who brought him a package. Sam had not asked for anything, but went to his name and he had not to pay anything so he took it and put it on the shelf in the kitchen. He had no time to open it, it was late and had several things to do for the town.

He returned to the house to leave all that it had bought, some of them were various latches to left the windows closed. After a quick bite he had bought, he decided to walk around the village. Walked past several homes and could be a coincidence or not, but the people shut down the windows and blinds with his step, as if they were afraid of something.

While Sam was walking there was an entrance to a park with an iron gate painted black and decided to walk there. The road was paved with trees on either side, the leaves were falling and were crackling with Sam's footsteps. While he was admiring the landscape unexpectedly a storm surprised him and Sam had no refuge, but he neither cared. It seemed so dark like night and in front of him he saw a man lying on the ground, walked fast to him to help.

He seemed unconscious and Sam stooping to help him, the man bit Sam in the neck and showing fangs blood stained bright left the place running. Sam back the way it came and went to the nearest house first for help to heal him. An old lady in an adjacent house invited him in, the lady had a shabby, unkempt hair and the gray colored ash in a ponytail . She wore a black dress and seemed no to be very sane, but really understand Sam's situation at the time.

While the old woman was helping to Sam to heal the wound of the neck, he passed out from the pain and bleeding. When he regained consciousness, he had his neck bandaged and thanked to the woman for look after him and went back to his house. For once that in that town the sun shone was annoying to Sam, he try to covering everything he could his face with his coat got home. Entered, locked and lay down on his bed.

When he awoke he saw the old woman who had nursed him in his room putting all kinds of ointments, amulets, crosses and various flowers and garlic around him that she took from the package that he had received that morning, everything reeked of garlic a lot. Sam did not understand what were doing the lady there, and as she could entry in the house, but he was exhausted, had a headache and light blinded him. He fainted again

When he finally got forces, the old lady explained him the reason why she was there and why he had to be strengthened, and that the person who was bitten by the man in the park was not human, was a creature who could take form human and animal and had frightened all the town dark and gloomy, now, almost every day. The person who was bitten by the being in seven days the being back and take him somewhere, hidden from the human eye, as food.

The old lady lost her husband and her son in that way and she was waiting for someone brave out by him or, unfortunately, someone that was bitten by the creature to teach his wisdom on how to end it. The old lady lost her husband and her son in that way and she was waiting for someone brave out by him or, unfortunately, someone that was bitten by the creature to teach his wisdom on how to end it.

The first weakness was the sun, that there was a shortage in that place for years and that if there was sun was weakly and for a few seconds

The second was silver - at that time the old woman pulled out a dagger and a bright silver sword, seemed newly forged - you should stick a sword and a silver dagger in his heart, not one of two, both.

Third, the most difficult to get,  you have to give him to swallowing a whole garlic.

 - "Is the creature a vampire?" Sam asked, - "No, it's not." Replied the old lady and said - "It's a mixture of all kinds of legends and stories that you could learn in life, not a vampire, but have fangs and drink blood, not a werewolf, but it damages by the silver and has their strength, it is not human or terrestrial animal, but can be if it desired. Focus your mind on his destruction, not think in what it is because the creature can be even a small child playing with his ball in the park."

Sam was speechless wondering how someone as frail as he was going to end the existence of a being as robust as it described the old lady. But he listened as someone entered the house through the door leaving it shattered, the old woman hid in one of the closets that still were empty in the room and Sam hid the dagger and sword with the sheets.

Being arrived there in microseconds and a fortuitous sunshine into to the room giving on the creature's face, was not in human form or animal form, they could see his real face was like a furry bat with red eyes and a penetrating horn-like spikes coming out all over his body. The monster was weakened by sunlight, then Sam drew his dagger and plunged it into the creature's heart and immediately did the same with the sword, but it hit him and threw him across the room. Sam returned to be unconscious at the time a brave old lady got out from the closet was holding the beast and screaming to wake Sam.

Sam confused by the blow, he can get up, grab the sword and he stabs the monster, it gave a scream that could heard around the town and then left the garlic, had plenty of garlic and took all, but the being kept moving from side to side with the old woman in the back.

The demon stumbled and fell and the old woman was more agile than she appeared and jumped on the bed avoiding being crushed by the beast. Already weakened, a dazed Sam came with garlic on hand and stuck it in thebeast's mouth and took tape and sealed him mouth. Being no longer moved and the sun began to shine on the street. Between Sam and the old woman took the monster and brought him into the street, when the sun shone strongly it vanished into ashes that were spread throughout the village.

Then the people came back to life, the sun rose each day and people celebrated the end of their darkness with a celebration of gratitude to Sam for his bravery.

La Cueva / The Cave

Charlie and Sharon were walking through the woods when a storm caught them by surprise. They walked a little faster between some big rocks and found a place to take shelter. They came there and saw that it was very large, they took their flashlights and saw it was a huge cave. They looked at the map bearing if indicated, but in none of the three maps that the people of the hostel gave them no appear.

They began to explore it, advanced a narrow road and then found a large room full of stalactites like arrows pointing to his head threatening to fall on them. Sharon picked up the pace, she did not feel very safe, but Charlie was fascinated watching them closely and touching, when he heard Sharon scream. He turned abruptly to go in the direction of Sharon, but he did not know where She was or where came the cry. He kept going forward and  he called Sharon everywhere, but she did not answer.

Charlie was very concerned about Sharon, he had no idea where she could have gone, there was nothing but ways and now he appeared before a fork, the two ways look like the same and he did not know which way to go. He looked down and saw several stones, grabbed them and made a pile and put it on the left side, then decided continue that way and he could go back and take the other way.

He came to a bridge that has been created over time and wear of the rock of the cave, looked very fragile and at the other side was a kind of opening in the rock that looked like a door. He looked down, Charlie always had a fear of heights, and saw plenty of stalagmites that arose between the darkness of that endless fall. Then he heard the voice of Sharon, steeled ran across that fragile bridge coming . He passed through the hole in the rock and took a deep breath, he called Sharon several times. He entered a huge room and saw a shadow coming out of there in the background.

He passed so fast that neither stopped to see the place and the following passaged he noted that the floor was a kind of grit and footprints, Ones were Sharon's and the others were not human because he can see by the footprints that there were something with three fingers that had claws. He followed the tracks and took him to a hole that was on the ground, he can saw nothing even the flashlight was lighting darkness within darkness. He called Sharon and she replied asking for help from there. He jumped into the hole very carefully he gripping the edge, but felt like something grabbed him and threw him down.

He came to and the sun was hitting in his face, he was in the woods, he sought to Sharon everywhere and called her and he got no answer. He back to the town downhearted and he looked for help. For days, the people were searching to Sharon but there was not a trace, in her search several others disappeared and they did not see more to the most of them, others saw a dark being winged and with red eyes whose feet were consistent with the description of the track that gave Charlie. With all the dissapeared people, the town's people never dared to return to the place, only hunters and onlookers who wanted to catch the creature, but the people that entry into the woods, they never returned to tell it.

El Manicomio / The Asylum

He awoke with a terrible headache, he could not remember what had happened the day before. Slowly his eyes adjusted to the darkness that was in the room. He looked around the room but not his own, there was no furniture, just the bed he was lying. The walls were painted white, a white so bright it lit up the whole interior almost still dark. He tried to remember why was there, what that place was, but there was no way, that headache was killing him and could not think. He was silent listening to see if any sound might give him a clue where he was, nothing, heard nothing, all was silence, a silence that caused even more stronger that headache. "What happened to me?" "Where am I?" Are the questions that were in his head over and over again.

He got out of bed and nearly fell to the floor of a hit by the dizziness. He had a headache, was dizzy, do not know where he was and now he could not move. The body was like paralyzed, but he wanted to get out. He crawled as he could touching the walls looking for a door. The walls of that place a part of  was bright white it was padded like a fucking a asylum room. He found a door, but it was completely closed, looked his pockets and he had nothing.

Under the bed there was something glimmered that calling his attention, he was slowly getting strength to stand, but this time was fast creeping up there. He turned the bed to take what was underneath was a key and a lock box. He opened the box with the key and had a picklock. He took the picklock and moved to the door, never open a door before that way, but opened it fast.

Out from that room, everything was dark, there was nothing more than a larger room with several rusty doors that he would not open easily. Arthur did not see hardly anything in the darkness, he began to walk slowly step by step back until he stumbled and fell on a stretcher breaking the silence that seemed eternal. There were voices, screams, growls that they not came from him, but he couldn't clearly hear that because he caused a loud noise by the trip.

When silence again flooded the place, he began to hear footsteps around him but he was unable to see, the walls were dark, black seemed compared to the room where he was before. He noticed a big breath on his neck, but he still remained lying in that stretcher, he was frozen with cold, was very cold and he was hearing a growl that sounded through all the room.

The growl ended up being a voice that sounded like the voice of a madman screaming nonsense things at all, but one of the most repeated words was "Arthur, you will die" the man clearly listened those words and being terrified he got an inhuman force to rise and run from door to door looking if he can opened one, but none was open, they were so stuck that neither the strongest man on earth could open them, which Arthur did not know is that the doors were walled up from the other side.

Arthur was trapped in an abandoned asylum with no memory of who was there and why a being who could not see was saying to him that he was going to die, he came across a photo in a frame on the floor. He look it and there were a man in a white coat like a doctor, Arthur, and next to him was a very thin man did not seem very sane, his patient.

Then, he could remember everything, he saw it like a movie flashback, Arthur was no more than the doctor who was studying the evolution of the patient in the photo. In one of his visits to this patient, he gave a psychotic break and stole the pen that Arthur had in his coat and stabbed in the jugular saying "Arthur, you will die" exactly the words he was hearing, now he could see him, he saw his patient , his face pale, he died that day with him, slashed his wrists with a scalpel that he found in the pockets of Arthur. Both were trapped to relive that story over and over again for all the eternity.
